This guide will take you through the process of adding appointment confirmations in FLEX.


To access this part you will need access to the Setup of FLEX, specifically the Appointments Setup. If you can, then please proceed, if not, please ask a staff member that can access this part of the system.



Please proceed to the following section of FLEX: 

Menu > Setup > Appointments > General. Then please follow the steps below:


  1. Click on the Appt Reminders button at the top of the screen
  2. This will bypass any other setting and take you straight to the Appointment reminder section.
    You will now notice that all four boxes are empty

    (they may not be if you have added appointment reminders/confirmations previously)
  3. Double-click into one of the boxes (confirmations for SMS/email). As an example for this guide, the reason sight test has been chosen along with the appointment confirmation template.

    This will mean the patient will receive an SMS as soon as the appointment has been booked into the FLEX diary (it can take up to 15 mins for FLEX to send the message)

    This can also be done for email confirmations:
  4. From this moment on the SMS/email will be sent to those patients.
