NOVA is a web based management system which relies on an internet connection to work, when the connection to the servers is slow or degraded you may see a slowdown when using NOVA.
If you are experiencing longer than usual page loading times, the first step is to run the 'Speed Test' to ascertain the current connection speed.
- In NOVA, click the system menu button in the top right corner of the page - it will display your login name and a small down arrow
- From the system menu, select 'Speed Test'
- When the speed test window loads, click the 'Start' button to begin the test.
- When the test has finished the results will be displayed (download / upload / ping / jitter).
Ping is a measure of the reaction time of your connection. In other words, how quickly you receive a response when a request is made. Ping is measured in milliseconds (ms) and the lower the ping number, the faster your connection
Network jitter is the variation between response times. Good connections have a reliable and consistent response time, which is represented as a lower jitter score.
