ENSURE YOU HAVE AN UP-TO-DATE BACKUP BEFORE PROCEEDING

The Patient Removal Tool has been added to Flex to help practices comply with the new GDPR Regulations surrounding removal of patient data. When running the tool, it will search for patients that meet the following criteria:

  • Aged over 25
  • Added more than 10 years ago
  • With no Appointments, Tests, CL Exams, Dispenses, Orders or Receipts in the last 10 years

Till receipts are assigned to ‘Non Patient Sale’ to allow for reporting in the future and only staff members with access to the ‘Management’ section of FLEX can run this tool.

How To Use The Patient Removal Tool

Navigate to 'Main Menu->Management->Patient Removal'

Firstly, click the 'Find' button. The system will look for all patients who meet the aforementioned criteria and display them in a list, like below. A progress bar will also be displayed - it is recommended that you leave your machine alone until this has reached 100%.

Next, you can select which patients you wish to delete by ticking the 'Delete' box in the required rows. By default, Delete is ticked for every patient. You can also click Select/Deselect All, which are options that appear at the top of the screen once every patient has been found. When you are ready to delete, click Delete Selected. You will be presented with the following message, as well as two other boxes which confirms that you wish to delete the patients.

NOTE: When deleting patients, this data is physically removed from the system and this process CANNOT BE UNDONE
